Dr. Lamin Bangura

Dr. Bangura is an Interventional Cardiologist, who started his education in 2005 at the University of Houston, before moving on to gain his Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Following this, Dr. Bangura returned to Texas for four years to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. In 2014, he started a General Cardiology Fellowship, that then led to a Chief Fellow position at Howard University School of Medicine. In 2017, he began an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Harper University Hospital, in Detroit, Michigan. He is now returning to the Greater Houston area to join our Cardiology Practice!

Dr. Bangura is Board Certified in General Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. He is a member of several Honorary and Professional Societies, including the American College of Physicians (ACP), American College of Cardiology (ACC), Association of Black Cardiologist (ABC), Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI), Student National Medical Association (SNMA), and the American Medical Student Association (AMSA).

Dr. Bangura has also received first place, Poster presentation at the 30th Annual Caribbean Cardiology Conference, for an unusual case of Severe Pulmonary Hypertension, and second place, Poster presentation at the 10th Annual AMA Research Symposium, for a correlation between Diabetes Control and Diastolic Dysfunction.

Dr. Bangura is married with two young children. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, exercising, weight lifting, playing soccer, and spending time with his family and friends.
